A Thing Called Fashion

New Years Outfit Idea #2

I am here with my second post with the New Years Outfit Idea series. Hoping that you are up to date on the earlier post.

Fusion is so much fun even if it’s just one single thing in the entire outfit. This time I tried a traditional nose ring with this black cape bodycon dress from Afamado. I personally love bodycon dresses because it highlights the curves, which was not the case a few years back. There was a time when I would always run away from body-hugging clothes and stick to baggy shirts. The mantra is “adapt and overcome” and I did it. From bodycon dresses to pencil skirts, I have got them all in my wardrobe. And I have realised the difference it makes for my body type. Fashion changes but your style is the only thing that always endures.

Coming back to the fusion, I love mixing different cultural trends and bringing out the best of both. The nose ring aka “nath” not only gives it a powerful feel but also makes it unique (i.e. if you love trying out accessories differently). I bought the nose ring from Amazon for a totally different post which I will work on later but couldn’t resist and styled them with this cape black bodycon dress. The nose ring had a red stone which is a perfect colour combination to black and gold. Hence the black dress, gold heels & clutch and the gold and a red stone nose ring.

There isn’t just one right way to style yourself this new years eve or a party. If you find this out of your league, I can give you another option. Find something bold and wild at any thrift shop in your city or a local market and wear it with an all-black base for a statement look. Dramatic makeup is never a bad idea too on a plain black LBD. The point is if you have a black dress in your wardrobe or just bought one for the new years, all you have to do is jazz it up and turn heads!

Would you try this style out this New Years?

I am in love with the pictures. Hope you like it too!
