A Thing Called Fashion

Into The Woods

There are times when you are all dressed up and the only thing you need is a good camera to show the outfit to your virtual friends via social media portals. Well, this was one of those days when I and Shivani Boruah of TheVelvetRadio decided to do this shoot for each other. Now the question was where? Because we were out of places in Koramangala specifically. Fortunately, Shivani lives in a fancy area which had a backyard that no one knew about. I followed her instructions and reached the spot. To my surprise, this abandoned backyard was perfect and exactly what I was looking for.

The preparation to shoot started. We clicked all the pictures with Shivani’s iPhone 8 plus and clearly it did a brilliant job I must say.

I always wanted a military jacket but it was either too expensive or always out of stock every time I looked for one. One day while I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, I came across Jabong’s offer on Only’s Military Jacket. The moment I read the discounted offer, I pulled out my card and bought it contentedly. I desperately waited for Jabong’s dispatch notification every day. This particular military jacket is an open jacket unlike the usual ones but I am intensely happy with my purchase.

The FabIndia kurta and straight pants paired perfectly with my military jacket. I accessorized the outfit with some tribal silver jewellery that I had bought from the streets of Hampi for dirt cheap price. Since the entire outfit was subtle and pragmatic, I decided to add a pop of colour by wearing a pair of bright yellow Kolhapuris.

Hope you like the way I have styled the jacket! Enjoy the pictures.
